DIE is the second multidisciplinary project of the collective Culture and Conflict<\/em> . A cry against ageism and the invisibility of old age. A proposal to provoke conversation between generations. <\/p>\n

A space inspired by a peepshow that focuses on the obscenity of old age. On what we don’t want to see because we don’t like it or we don’t recognize ourselves in it in a natural way. From here, the author explores the possibilities of eroticism and desire as points of escape from these problems. We live in a society that links the value of the body to sexual attractiveness and where all vulnerable, dependent, fragile or non-productive bodies are marginal subjects. Old age, therefore, remains in the shadow of society, off the stage. Faced with this obscene gaze \u2014which hides everything where we don’t recognize ourselves\u2014, we propose an incursion into eroticism to subvert authority and make old age manifest itself with dignity. How is sexuality experienced at this vital moment? How does a body that is socially parked satisfy desires? Can eroticism be a way of escaping? A way of remembering?\u2026 <\/p>\n

In this way, the piece also proposes a staging of this obscene gaze, placing the viewer in front of a peephole: a gaze that hides old age, but that cannot help but wonder about one's own destiny.<\/span><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
The three-dimensionality of stereoscopic photography invites us to discover the stories from an intimate place. The octagon-shaped structure is composed of seven viewers \u2013 each with a switch and a receiver \u2013 integrated into wooden panels. In this way, the viewer looks through the peepholes to see the images and listen to the testimonies.  <\/span><\/pre>\n
Preview at the Temporada Alta in Girona, premiere at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, exhibited at the Sala Muncunill in Terrassa, at the Glops festival in Vilafranca del Pened\u00e8s, at the Inund’art festival in Girona, at the Matadepera City Council, at the Connecta space in Matar\u00f3 and at the S\u00f2ria photography festival.<\/p>\n
