Glory

Audiovisual altarpiece

Gloria is a contemporary audiovisual altarpiece made up of three installations that articulate a symbolic journey on desire, unfolding forms that range from servitude to disobedience.

Beyond sexuality, the project understands desire as a path of knowledge linked to sensations, emotions and human experiences. The body becomes the central axis for exploring experiences of bullying among children, where desire is constructed under forms of coercion and absence.

In this context, Glòria establishes a parallel between the body and the screen as spaces where violence occurs. Through video performance, everyday objects and projections, the project adopts oppressive gestures to give them another meaning, transforming them into movements of revolt that allow us to recognize the lived experience and convert it into a form of resistance.

As Roland Barthes said, altering codes is more subversive than destroying them. Thus, desire becomes a power from which to propose practices of manifestation and resistance to the abuse of power, capable of transcending pain, reinterpreting symbols of power and recovering one’s own space of glory.

Gloria does not speak of triumph, but of revelation. Not the glory of the victor, but the power that appears when you stop defining yourself by the violence you received.
